About

Installed 70 various diameter (8-12”) piling at Marathon’s KPL facility in Kenai. The piling were driven for foundations so Marathon could install cable trays, flow meters, and control valves which were all a part of the VSM for their tank farms. Piling were all driven to a minimum depth of 20+ and installed using both an excavator mounted vertical impact hammer and a vibratory hammer that was suspended from a 100 ton hydraulic truck crane. Before piling could be installed a pilot hole of 10’ needed to be excavated in order to check for underground utilities or hazards.
