Over the years Cruz has grown into one of the largest heavy civil contractors in the state of Alaska. Our unparalleled equipment fleet and experienced personnel allows us to self-perform large scale, remote projects. Partnering with Cruz’s marine division and facilities division, we can be self-sufficient in the most remote, logistically challenging places of Alaska.  From highways and airports to sea-walls and subsea cables, Cruz is always looking for a challenge.

Transportation

Cruz has played an integral role in not only keeping traffic moving, but also pioneering roads across Alaska. Cruz is very well-versed in navigating the obstacles with transportation projects. Our experience with deep culverts, large excavations and fills, and subpar soil conditions has allowed Cruz to employ innovative construction techniques that provided our clients with a superior product. With every project, Cruz looks to accelerate the project while maintaining quality and minimizing impacts to the public.

Airports & Runways

Alaska has over 250 airports and runways throughout the state, most of which are not on the road system. These airports are often located in areas that can only be accessed seasonally due to freezing coast lines and rivers. Some airports do not have sufficient gravel sources nearby, therefore requiring them to be barged. Over the years, Cruz has refined our construction methods to complete these complex projects in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner.

Specialty

Cruz’s large customized equipment fleet, allows us to tackle large specialty projects. Complex projects require complex solutions and Cruz is always ready for challenge. Each year Cruz performs specialty projects that include seawalls, subsea cables, campgrounds, environmental cleanups, quarry development, and many others. This wide array of specialty projects have helped Cruz become a leading specialty contractor in Alaska.
