The scope of work required for this project included the mobilization and operation of a 75-bed remote camp, mine site development, construction of three miles of on-shore ice road and 10 miles of offshore ice road to support gravel hauling, winter placement of 525,000 cubic yards of gravel for road and pad improvements, installation of 2,505 lineal feet of cross-drainage improvements ranging from 24″-48″ in diameter, enhanced slope protection using four cubic yard geotextile revetment bags, and the installation of delineators and roadway signage. Mine site development required the removal of 340,000 cubic yards of overburden, and the excavation of 525,000 cubic yards from existing Mine Site “E”.
