Fort Knox – TSF Dam Raise

In 2011 Alaska Aggregate Products was awarded the bid from Kinross Fort Knox to raise their embankment earth dam. This project offered unique challenges, very precise specifications for lift materials, compaction, and density. Of course, these challenges became even greater with summers that had heavy rainfall. Nonetheless, we successfully completed the work required every year until the construction completion in 2017.

As the dam stands now is nearly 300 feet tall, and a mile long – one of the largest embankment dams built in Alaska.
